What are the dating sites for gamers that focus on shared play?

Spent the weekend reading about dating sites for gamers that focus on shared play and came away more confused. My rule with dating sites: what the search filters can actually do first, everything else second.

Where I get stuck with dating sites is that every source has something to sell, so I would rather ask people than read another list. You can ignore most of the marketing around dating sites and just check how much you can do before being asked to upgrade once you are past sign-up.

The three things that decide dating sites this year:

  • Look at how the search behaves outside the default radius using a fresh account rather than an old one
  • Watch whether the same faces cycle back the next day with the age filter set narrow
  • Check whether last-active timestamps look plausible against what the marketing page claims
  • Compare how many profiles carry more than two photos with notifications switched off

Anyone with recent time on dating sites, where did it fall over? Successes and dead ends equally useful. Regional details are what I am actually after.

Honest take: dating sites surprised me, though not immediately. Anyone comparing dating sites should be looking at whether desktop and mobile behave the same on mobile before anything else. datebie.online came up in the same search and behaved similarly.

What I actually check with dating sites after a few false starts:

  • Work out whether photo permissions are opt-in or opt-out before deciding whether it is worth paying for
  • Test what share of the layout is advertising and write the answer down

What nobody mentions about dating sites is how thin it gets in smaller towns on mobile.

That's the short version on dating sites; ask if you want the detail.

@Aiden might be right in principle, but dating sites rarely behaves that cleanly. Two weeks in, how much of the traffic is automated day to day is what actually mattered for dating sites. If you want a second opinion, Datenest (datenest.site) is the one I'd try next.

For dating sites, how quickly the fake accounts surface on mobile is the difference between useful and a waste of an evening.

Worked for me on dating sites and I would revise it if the numbers moved.

Going against the thread here: I want to like dating sites more than I actually do. The honest test for dating sites is how quickly the fake accounts surface, not the feature list. People keep recommending flamedate.online; it is at least worth ten minutes.

That's where I've landed on dating sites, though clearly it varies by region.

Disagree with @LandonC on dating sites. The version of dating sites I used had none of that. I judge dating sites almost entirely on what the bot ratio feels like day to day at the times you actually log in. a look at Datelink solved about half of this for me.

That's where I've landed on dating sites, may not hold for you.

Half agree with @IsaacC. Dating sites are fine; the experience around dating sites is not. Where dating sites falls down for me is how quickly the fake accounts surface on mobile. Started on the Rendate community and never fully moved off it.

If you're evaluating dating sites, start with what the bot ratio feels like day to day — everything else follows.

That's what six weeks of dating sites taught me; ask if you want the detail.
