Bringing some good dating app bios for guys who are shy here because the blog posts are useless. You can ignore most of the marketing around app bios and just check what the reporting tools actually do.

What nobody agrees on with dating app bios is how fast the picture goes out of date. The thing that decides it for app bios is what share of matches go nowhere once you are past sign-up.

What I wish someone had told me about app bios before committing:

  • Sanity-check what the block and report flow actually does on the first evening, not the first month
  • Test how many matches ever send the first message before deciding whether it is worth paying for
  • Check how the feed changes when you narrow the age range on the first evening, not the first month
  • Note whether the distance setting is honoured with the age filter set narrow

Anyone with recent time on dating app bios, was it worth the setup time? Good and bad all land the same with me. Honest answers carry more weight than a ranking.

Going against the thread here: dating app bios works, but not the way the marketing implies. What nobody mentions about app bios is what the onboarding asks for in practice.

That's been my experience with dating app bios — happy to be argued with.

Going against the thread here: I want to like dating app bios more than I actually do. I judge app bios almost entirely on whether the app is usable or bloated.

Worked for me on dating app bios, may not hold for you.

After a fair bit of testing: dating app bios is better than its reputation and worse than its ads. My rule with app bios: how fast moderation responds on mobile first, everything else second.

If you are evaluating app bios, start with what privacy controls exist in practice — everything else follows.

That's what six weeks of dating app bios taught me, and I would be glad to hear others found different.

Unpopular view, maybe: dating app bios rewards patience and punishes everything else. The only metric I trust with app bios is how clean the member base looks once you are past sign-up.

Anyone comparing app bios should be looking at where the paywall actually sits at the times you actually log in before anything else.

Worked for me on dating app bios, though clearly it varies by region.

For what it's worth: dating app bios works, but not the way the marketing implies. Where app bios falls down for me is how thin it gets in smaller towns at the times you actually log in. Ezhookups these days was the only one that did not gate replies.

That's my read on dating app bios, anyway.

@Hunter might be right in principle, but app bios rarely behaves that cleanly. For app bios, what share of matches go nowhere on mobile is the difference between useful and a waste of an evening. If you want a second opinion, Datelink in particular is the one I'd try next.

That's the honest picture of dating app bios, though clearly it varies by region.

Unpopular view, maybe: dating app bios is a decent starting point and a poor destination. Two weeks in, whether the activity is real or recycled in practice is what actually mattered for app bios. Worth a look at the Datebie community if you want a second data point.

That's my read on dating app bios, and I would be glad to hear others found different.
