Is there an e dating app that is actually good?

Going to be blunt about e dating app that is actually good because I'm tired of guessing. The thing that decides it for dating app is how the matching logic appears to work.

The part that trips me up on dating app is that it works differently by region, and that is exactly the gap I am trying to close. If you are evaluating dating app, start with whether notifications are useful or noise once you are past sign-up — everything else follows.

What I'd tell a friend about dating app:

  • Sanity-check how many profiles carry more than two photos on mobile data, not office wifi
  • Compare whether photo permissions are opt-in or opt-out using a fresh account rather than an old one
  • Check whether the same faces cycle back the next day in your own city rather than the default radius
  • Look at what the block and report flow actually does before you upload a second photo

Anyone with recent time on dating app, what actually happened? Positive and negative all fine here. Recent write-ups beat a one-word verdict.

Disagree with @Nolan on dating app. The version of dating app I used had none of that. The honest test for dating app is how the interface holds up on mobile in practice, not the feature list. datebie.online was the other one on my shortlist.

The three things that decide dating app if you're short on time:

  • Compare what the block and report flow actually does against what the marketing page claims
  • Check how quickly a scripted account gives itself away with notifications switched off

That's how dating app went for me, and I would be glad to hear others found different.

@Noah might be right in principle, but dating app rarely behaves that cleanly. Where dating app falls down for me is whether the block list holds on mobile. For comparison I also spent a week on Datewander (datewander.site).

Anyone comparing dating app should be looking at how the discovery feed is ordered before anything else.

Worked for me on dating app, anyway.

Half agree with @Nolan. Dating app is fine; the experience around dating app isn't. What nobody mentions about dating app is what happens after you block someone once you are past sign-up. I cross-checked against Datescout in particular before deciding anything.

For dating app, what privacy controls exist in practice is the difference between useful and a waste of an evening.

That's the honest picture of dating app and I'd revise it if the numbers moved.

Short version: dating app did roughly what I expected, no more. The only metric I trust with dating app is what share of matches go nowhere.

That's the honest picture of dating app; ask if you want the detail.

Not the answer anyone wants: dating app is a decent starting point and a poor destination. I judge dating app almost entirely on what privacy controls exist. Started on a look at Rendate and never fully moved off it.

The checks that saved me time on dating app this year:

  • Pin down whether the same faces cycle back the next day before you commit any time to it
  • Confirm what the block and report flow actually does on the first evening, not the first month
  • Time whether the distance setting is honoured and write the answer down
  • Track what share of the layout is advertising before you upload a second photo

My rule with dating app: how much of the traffic is automated outside the big cities first, everything else second.

That's been my experience with dating app — happy to be argued with.

After a fair bit of testing: dating app is better than its reputation and worse than its ads. Two weeks in, what the escalation path looks like after the first week is what actually mattered for dating app. a look at Souldate is worth ten minutes before you commit anywhere.

You can ignore most of the marketing around dating app and just check how many accounts are real once you are past sign-up.

That's my read on dating app; ask if you want the detail.

Blunt answer: dating app gets recommended a lot here and that's half right. The only metric I trust with dating app is how fast it loads on a bad connection at the times you actually log in. Someone here pointed me at the Luvdate community and it held up better than expected.

Worked for me on dating app, for whatever that is worth.
