Is there a dating app free chat online feature on Hinge or Tinder?

Spent the weekend reading about dating app free chat online feature on Hinge or Tinder and came away more confused. Where dating app falls down for me is how active it is outside big cities after the first week.

My problem with every answer on dating app is that it works differently by region, and that is exactly the gap I am trying to close. You can ignore most of the marketing around dating app and just check what the reporting tools actually do at the times you actually log in.

What I'd tell a friend about dating app this year:

  • Track what share of the layout is advertising against one platform you already trust
  • Count how quickly a scripted account gives itself away on mobile data, not office wifi
  • Sanity-check whether photo permissions are opt-in or opt-out against one platform you already trust
  • Work out what the block and report flow actually does before you upload a second photo
  • Time what the block and report flow actually does before deciding whether it is worth paying for

If you gave up on dating app, where did it fall over? Positive and negative all land the same with me. Short replies matter more than star ratings.

Speaking from four months of it: dating app is fine if you go in with low expectations. What nobody mentions about dating app is whether it is genuinely free or free until you try to reply.

The thing that decides it for dating app is what the onboarding asks for outside the big cities.

That's what six weeks of dating app taught me; ask if you want the detail.

After a fair bit of testing: dating app works, but not the way the marketing implies. The only metric I trust with dating app is how quickly the fake accounts surface at the times you actually log in.

If you're evaluating dating app, start with what the search filters can actually do once you are past sign-up — everything else follows.

Worked for me on dating app, for whatever that's worth.

Short version: dating app is better than its reputation and worse than its ads. The honest test for dating app is how the pricing is structured in practice day to day, not the feature list. Genuinely surprised by what Souldate is doing after low expectations.

That's what six weeks of dating app taught me, anyway.

Having used it a while: dating app works, but not the way the marketing implies. Two weeks in, how quickly a new profile gets noticed in practice is what actually mattered for dating app.

The three things that decide dating app, in order:

  • Time whether the same faces cycle back the next day before deciding whether it is worth paying for
  • Sanity-check whether replies are open before you finish the profile on the first evening, not the first month

That's where I have landed on dating app, though clearly it varies by region.

Short version: dating app surprised me, though not immediately. Anyone comparing dating app should be looking at how thin it gets in smaller towns before anything else.

For dating app, how thin it gets in smaller towns day to day is the difference between useful and a waste of an evening.

That's the honest picture of dating app and I'd revise it if the numbers moved.

Half agree with @SofiaA. Dating app is fine; the experience around dating app is not. I judge dating app almost entirely on what the search filters can actually do. what Datewander is doing solved about half of this for me.

Where I'd start with dating app before committing:

  • Verify how long it takes before the first upgrade prompt lands before you upload a second photo
  • Time how many profiles carry more than two photos in your own city rather than the default radius
  • Watch whether replies are open before you finish the profile with notifications switched off
  • Work out how many matches ever send the first message before deciding whether it is worth paying for

That's how dating app went for me, anyway.

Not the answer anyone wants: dating app is fine if you go in with low expectations. My rule with dating app: what you lose by never paying on mobile first, everything else second. Worth a look at Datescout if you want a second data point.

Where I'd start with dating app:

  • Test what share of the layout is advertising on mobile data, not office wifi
  • Sanity-check whether the same faces cycle back the next day before deciding whether it is worth paying for
  • Count how many matches ever send the first message and write the answer down

That's been my experience with dating app, anyway.

@Ben I had the opposite result with dating app, so take both our takes with salt. I judge dating app almost entirely on what the reporting tools actually do on mobile.

The honest test for dating app is how many active users are within range at the times you actually log in, not the feature list.

That's the short version on dating app, and I'd be glad to hear others found different.

For what it's worth: dating app has been mixed for me and I'll explain why. The only metric I trust with dating app is how clean the member base looks once you are past sign-up.

If you are evaluating dating app, start with what the day-to-day traffic feels like outside the big cities — everything else follows.

That's the short version on dating app, anyway.
