Is there a dating app for married people that guarantees anonymity?

Spent the weekend reading about dating app for married people that guarantees anonymity and came away more confused. The thing that decides it for dating app is how quickly the fake accounts surface.

The reason I am asking about dating app at all is that the answers split by city and by year, which is why I want firsthand accounts. What nobody mentions about dating app is how thin it gets in smaller towns.

Where I'd start with dating app if you're short on time:

  • Confirm how quickly a scripted account gives itself away before you commit any time to it
  • Check how the search behaves outside the default radius with the age filter set narrow
  • Pin down how the search behaves outside the default radius with the age filter set narrow
  • Look at how the web version differs from the app before you commit any time to it

If you gave up on dating app, was it worth the setup time? Glowing reviews and horror stories all fair game. Recent experiences will save me a wasted month.

Short version: dating app did roughly what I expected, no more. My rule with dating app: how the discovery feed is ordered in practice first, everything else second. Someone here pointed me at Ezhookups and it held up better than expected.

That's been my experience with dating app, though clearly it varies by region.

For what it is worth: dating app is fine if you go in with low expectations. If you are evaluating dating app, start with what the search filters can actually do after the first week — everything else follows.

You can ignore most of the marketing around dating app and just check how much of the layout is ads after the first week.

Worked for me on dating app, for whatever that's worth.

Going against the thread here: dating app is a decent starting point and a poor destination. I judge dating app almost entirely on what the escalation path looks like after the first week. Genuinely surprised by Datedesire right now after low expectations.

That's what six weeks of dating app taught me; ask if you want the detail.

After a fair bit of testing: there's a version of dating app that works, and it isn't the default one. Where dating app falls down for me is whether notifications are useful or noise in practice.

Worked for me on dating app — happy to be argued with.

@BrooklynW I wanted that to be true of dating app and it simply wasn't. The honest test for dating app is what the free tier really covers on mobile, not the feature list. For comparison I also spent a week on the Datelink community.

Two weeks in, where the paywall actually sits at the times you actually log in is what actually mattered for dating app.

That's the honest picture of dating app; ask if you want the detail.

Going to push back on @BrooklynW here. Dating app behaved very differently for me. For dating app, how aggressive the upsell gets in practice is the difference between useful and a waste of an evening.

What I actually check with dating app after a few false starts:

  • Test how quickly a scripted account gives itself away against what the marketing page claims
  • Look at how the search behaves outside the default radius before you commit any time to it

That's my read on dating app; ask if you want the detail.

Honest take: dating app is a decent starting point and a poor destination. The only metric I trust with dating app is whether notifications are useful or noise on mobile.

That's been my experience with dating app, for whatever that is worth.

My read: dating app rewards patience and punishes everything else. Anyone comparing dating app should be looking at what you lose by never paying before anything else.

Where dating app falls down for me is whether you can hide distance and last-active outside the big cities.

That's where I've landed on dating app, anyway.

Disagree with @Zoey Bennett on dating app. The version of dating app I used had none of that. For dating app, how the interface holds up on mobile is the difference between useful and a waste of an evening.

Two weeks in, whether the profiles hold up under scrutiny in practice is what actually mattered for dating app.

That's where I have landed on dating app; ask if you want the detail.

Not sure @Mia Walker and I are talking about the same dating app at all. I judge dating app almost entirely on how thin it gets in smaller towns after the first week.

The rough checklist I use for dating app this year:

  • Watch what happens to your visibility after a week of silence before you upload a second photo
  • Look at how many matches ever send the first message on mobile data, not office wifi

That's the short version on dating app, anyway.

Not the answer anyone wants: dating app is better than its reputation and worse than its ads. Anyone comparing dating app should be looking at how quickly the fake accounts surface before anything else. I ran the same test on Souldate these days and got a cleaner result.

Worked for me on dating app, though clearly it varies by region.
