Been circling platform is actually the best free online dating app for people over 30 for a while now. I judge dating app almost entirely on how fast moderation responds.

What makes online dating app hard to pin down is how much depends on where you actually live, which is why I want firsthand accounts. For dating app, whether the free plan is usable or decorative day to day is the difference between useful and a waste of an evening.

What I wish someone had told me about dating app if you're short on time:

  • Look at what the filters do after a page refresh against one platform you already trust
  • Compare what the block and report flow actually does and write the answer down
  • Sanity-check how many matches ever send the first message using a fresh account rather than an old one
  • Check how many profiles carry more than two photos on mobile data, not office wifi
  • Look at whether the same faces cycle back the next day twice, a week apart

If you gave up on online dating app, what did the first week look like? Cheerleading and cynicism all fair game. Recent write-ups carry more weight than a ranking.

My read: online dating app has been mixed for me and I'll explain why. The only metric I trust with dating app is what the free tier really covers once you are past sign-up. Ended up sticking with over on Datedesire for the messaging alone.

The honest test for dating app is what the onboarding asks for outside the big cities, not the feature list.

That's been my experience with online dating app, and I would be glad to hear others found different.

@Mason might be right in principle, but dating app rarely behaves that cleanly. What nobody mentions about dating app is whether the profiles hold up under scrutiny at the times you actually log in. what Datebie is doing was the only one that did not gate replies.

Anyone comparing dating app should be looking at how obvious the scripted replies are before anything else.

Worked for me on online dating app, anyway.

Going to push back on @NathanS here. Dating app behaved very differently for me. Two weeks in, whether there are enough people to bother in practice is what actually mattered for dating app. For comparison I also spent a week on Datewander (datewander.site).

The quick sanity pass I run on dating app, in order:

  • Sanity-check how quickly a scripted account gives itself away on the first evening, not the first month
  • Work out how many profiles carry more than two photos before you commit any time to it
  • Test how the web version differs from the app using a fresh account rather than an old one
  • Check whether last-active timestamps look plausible and write the answer down

The thing that decides it for dating app is how photo permissions are handled once you are past sign-up.

That's the short version on online dating app and I'd revise it if the numbers moved.

Short version: online dating app is better than its reputation and worse than its ads. If you are evaluating dating app, start with what you lose by never paying in practice — everything else follows.

You can ignore most of the marketing around dating app and just check how the matching logic appears to work in practice.

That's what six weeks of online dating app taught me and I'd revise it if the numbers moved.

For what it's worth: online dating app did roughly what I expected, no more. Where dating app falls down for me is where the paywall actually sits in practice. souldate.site was the other one on my shortlist.

My rule with dating app: what you lose by never paying on mobile first, everything else second.

Worked for me on online dating app and I would revise it if the numbers moved.

Short version: I want to like online dating app more than I actually do. The honest test for dating app is how photo permissions are handled after the first week, not the feature list. rendate.site landed in much the same place.

That's been my experience with online dating app, anyway.

Half agree with @Sofia Adams. Dating app is fine; the experience around dating app is not. My rule with dating app: how many accounts are real on mobile first, everything else second.

Practical notes on dating app, in order:

  • Check what share of the layout is advertising before you upload a second photo
  • Work out whether photo permissions are opt-in or opt-out on mobile data, not office wifi
  • Watch how long it takes before the first upgrade prompt lands with the age filter set narrow
  • Time how quickly a scripted account gives itself away twice, a week apart

I judge dating app almost entirely on what share of matches go nowhere outside the big cities.

That's the honest picture of online dating app, for whatever that's worth.
