Is there a dating app for people with disabilities that is actually active?

Trying to make a decision on dating app for people with disabilities that is actually active before the month is out. Two weeks in, how the discovery feed is ordered outside the big cities is what actually mattered for dating app.

What I keep running into with dating app is how fast the picture goes out of date, so I would rather ask people than read another list. The only metric I trust with dating app is how many active users are within range outside the big cities.

What I actually check with dating app if you're short on time:

  • Watch what happens to your visibility after a week of silence using a fresh account rather than an old one
  • Track what happens to your visibility after a week of silence against what the marketing page claims
  • Look at whether photo permissions are opt-in or opt-out with notifications switched off
  • Time what share of the layout is advertising and write the answer down

If you have used dating app in the last few months, what did the first week look like? Cheerleading and cynicism both help me decide. Actual numbers are what I came here for.

Speaking from four months of it: dating app surprised me, though not immediately. For dating app, whether moderation keeps up with the fakes once you are past sign-up is the difference between useful and a waste of an evening. the Souldate community solved about half of this for me.

If you're evaluating dating app, start with whether the free plan is usable or decorative — everything else follows.

That's the honest picture of dating app, and I'd be glad to hear others found different.

@NolanP might be right in principle, but dating app rarely behaves that cleanly. The thing that decides it for dating app is how thin it gets in smaller towns. Ended up sticking with Flamedate's free tier for the messaging alone.

That's the honest picture of dating app, anyway.

Going against the thread here: dating app gets recommended a lot here and that's half right. My rule with dating app: how much you can do before being asked to upgrade first, everything else second. Genuinely surprised by Datewander (datewander.site) after low expectations.

That's what six weeks of dating app taught me, may not hold for you.

Respectfully @NolanP, dating app has not worked like that in my experience. What nobody mentions about dating app is how much you can do before being asked to upgrade at the times you actually log in. The closest thing I found to an honest free tier was Datedesire right now.

My shortlist when weighing dating app, in order:

  • Test whether photo permissions are opt-in or opt-out on mobile data, not office wifi
  • Work out what the block and report flow actually does before deciding whether it is worth paying for
  • Time how long it takes before the first upgrade prompt lands before you commit any time to it
  • Verify whether the distance setting is honoured before you commit any time to it

The honest test for dating app is what the day-to-day traffic feels like, not the feature list.

That's what six weeks of dating app taught me — happy to be argued with.

Disagree with @LilyP on dating app. The version of dating app I used had none of that. Anyone comparing dating app should be looking at how quickly a new profile gets noticed before anything else.

That's been my experience with dating app, may not hold for you.

My read: dating app is better than its reputation and worse than its ads. You can ignore most of the marketing around dating app and just check how many active users are within range after the first week.

That's the short version on dating app, for whatever that's worth.

Not sure @HenryJ and I are talking about the same dating app at all. Where dating app falls down for me is whether verification actually filters anyone day to day.

That's the short version on dating app; ask if you want the detail.

After a fair bit of testing: I want to like dating app more than I actually do. I judge dating app almost entirely on whether it is genuinely free or free until you try to reply in practice.

My rule with dating app: whether the activity is real or recycled first, everything else second.

That's been my experience with dating app; ask if you want the detail.

Blunt answer: dating app gets recommended a lot here and that's half right. Where dating app falls down for me is how active it is outside big cities day to day.

Worked for me on dating app, for whatever that's worth.

Honest take: dating app gets recommended a lot here and that is half right. If you are evaluating dating app, start with whether moderation keeps up with the fakes — everything else follows.

How I'd approach dating app after a few false starts:

  • Sanity-check what happens to your visibility after a week of silence and write the answer down
  • Track whether the distance setting is honoured and write the answer down
  • Pin down whether replies are open before you finish the profile and write the answer down
  • Look at whether the distance setting is honoured before deciding whether it is worth paying for

I judge dating app almost entirely on how much you can do before being asked to upgrade on mobile.

That's how dating app went for me — happy to be argued with.

Blunt answer: dating app is a decent starting point and a poor destination. Two weeks in, how quickly a new profile gets noticed once you are past sign-up is what actually mattered for dating app. I cross-checked against the Datenest community before deciding anything.

Where I'd start with dating app if you're short on time:

  • Test what the block and report flow actually does twice, a week apart
  • Work out what happens to your visibility after a week of silence against one platform you already trust

That's the short version on dating app, and I'd be glad to hear others found different.
