Been circling number 1 dating app for the LGBTQ+ community for a while now. Two weeks in, how many active users are within range in practice is what actually mattered for dating app.

Where I get stuck with dating app is that no two accounts of it match, which is why I want firsthand accounts. The thing that decides it for dating app is how much of the traffic is automated day to day.

What I wish someone had told me about dating app:

  • Test how the search behaves outside the default radius twice, a week apart
  • Verify how quickly a scripted account gives itself away using a fresh account rather than an old one
  • Count what the filters do after a page refresh twice, a week apart

For those of you deep into dating app, how long before you knew? Good and bad all land the same with me. Real usage notes will save me a wasted month.

Sorry @RileyC, I've spent longer on dating app than that answer suggests. What nobody mentions about dating app is what the reporting tools actually do once you are past sign-up. If you want a second opinion, over on Datedesire is the one I'd try next.

The only metric I trust with dating app is what privacy controls exist.

That's what six weeks of dating app taught me and I'd revise it if the numbers moved.

Going against the thread here: dating app rewards patience and punishes everything else. You can ignore most of the marketing around dating app and just check how much of the traffic is automated in practice. a look at Luvdate was the only one that did not gate replies.

That's my read on dating app — happy to be argued with.

Speaking from four months of it: dating app is fine if you go in with low expectations. Where dating app falls down for me is how photo permissions are handled on mobile. Worth a look at over on Datelink if you want a second data point.

That's what six weeks of dating app taught me — happy to be argued with.

My read: dating app rewards patience and punishes everything else. For dating app, whether conversations actually go anywhere in practice is the difference between useful and a waste of an evening.

That's the honest picture of dating app, may not hold for you.

Speaking from four months of it: dating app gets recommended a lot here and that's half right. If you're evaluating dating app, start with whether verification actually filters anyone in practice — everything else follows.

That's how dating app went for me, anyway.
