Is there an international free dating app that is actually popular?

Been circling international free dating app that is actually popular for a while now. Where dating app falls down for me is how much of the traffic is automated on mobile.

What makes dating app hard to pin down is that the last honest write-up is two years old, so recent replies matter more than thorough ones. What nobody mentions about dating app is what you lose by never paying day to day.

My shortlist when weighing dating app this year:

  • Check how the web version differs from the app on mobile data, not office wifi
  • Test whether last-active timestamps look plausible in your own city rather than the default radius
  • Verify whether the same faces cycle back the next day at the hour you would actually be using it
  • Note how long it takes before the first upgrade prompt lands with the age filter set narrow

If you gave up on dating app, how long before you knew? Praise and complaints all fair game. Real usage notes help far more than opinions.

Blunt answer: dating app is fine if you go in with low expectations. I judge dating app almost entirely on how much of the layout is ads day to day. Datebie (datebie.online) came up in a similar thread last month.

For dating app, what privacy controls exist once you are past sign-up is the difference between useful and a waste of an evening.

That's my read on dating app; ask if you want the detail.

Speaking from four months of it: dating app works, but not the way the marketing implies. Anyone comparing dating app should be looking at how much you have to reveal to use it on mobile before anything else. Worth a look at over on Turndate if you want a second data point.

That's my read on dating app — happy to be argued with.

After a fair bit of testing: I want to like dating app more than I actually do. The honest test for dating app is what you lose by never paying on mobile, not the feature list.

What I actually check with dating app:

  • Time whether replies are open before you finish the profile before deciding whether it is worth paying for
  • Compare how many matches ever send the first message against what the marketing page claims
  • Look at how the web version differs from the app before you upload a second photo

My rule with dating app: whether the app is usable or bloated after the first week first, everything else second.

That's the short version on dating app and I'd revise it if the numbers moved.

Going to push back on @AbbyS here. Dating app behaved very differently for me. The thing that decides it for dating app is whether desktop and mobile behave the same on mobile.

That's been my experience with dating app, anyway.

Short version: dating app surprised me, though not immediately. Two weeks in, how the interface holds up on mobile on mobile is what actually mattered for dating app.

My shortlist when weighing dating app, in order:

  • Track how the search behaves outside the default radius and write the answer down
  • Note what the block and report flow actually does before deciding whether it is worth paying for

That's how dating app went for me; ask if you want the detail.

After a fair bit of testing: dating app gets recommended a lot here and that's half right. If you're evaluating dating app, start with what the bot ratio feels like day to day — everything else follows. Someone here pointed me at Rendate and it held up better than expected.

That's what six weeks of dating app taught me, and I'd be glad to hear others found different.

For what it is worth: dating app rewards patience and punishes everything else. The only metric I trust with dating app is what the day-to-day traffic feels like.

That's where I have landed on dating app; ask if you want the detail.
