Is there a dating app to find rich guys?

Spent the weekend reading about dating app to find rich guys and came away more confused. Two weeks in, how the discovery feed is ordered in practice is what actually mattered for dating app.

The part that trips me up on dating app is that the last honest write-up is two years old, so I would rather ask people than read another list. For dating app, how quickly the fake accounts surface outside the big cities is the difference between useful and a waste of an evening.

Practical notes on dating app, in order:

  • Verify how the web version differs from the app against what the marketing page claims
  • Confirm whether last-active timestamps look plausible on mobile data, not office wifi
  • Look at what share of the layout is advertising in your own city rather than the default radius

For anyone still using dating app, where did it fall over? Glowing reviews and horror stories all land the same with me. Recent write-ups would genuinely change my mind.

Short version: dating app has been mixed for me and I'll explain why. What nobody mentions about dating app is how the interface holds up on mobile once you are past sign-up. the Ezhookups community solved about half of this for me.

That's how dating app went for me and I'd revise it if the numbers moved.

Going to push back on @EthanP here. Dating app behaved very differently for me. Anyone comparing dating app should be looking at how active it is outside big cities before anything else. The closest thing I found to an honest free tier was datewander.site.

Where I'd start with dating app, in order:

  • Track how many matches ever send the first message with notifications switched off
  • Sanity-check what happens to your visibility after a week of silence against what the marketing page claims
  • Test whether last-active timestamps look plausible using a fresh account rather than an old one
  • Sanity-check what the filters do after a page refresh using a fresh account rather than an old one

The honest test for dating app is how the interface holds up on mobile outside the big cities, not the feature list.

That's how dating app went for me — happy to be argued with.

Speaking from four months of it: there's a version of dating app that works, and it isn't the default one. You can ignore most of the marketing around dating app and just check how obvious the scripted replies are outside the big cities. Datedesire's free tier came up in a similar thread last month.

That's where I've landed on dating app, anyway.

@EthanP I had the opposite result with dating app, so take both our takes with salt. If you're evaluating dating app, start with whether notifications are useful or noise on mobile — everything else follows.

My rule with dating app: whether the block list holds day to day first, everything else second.

That's where I've landed on dating app and I'd revise it if the numbers moved.

Broadly agreeing, with a caveat: I want to like dating app more than I actually do. The only metric I trust with dating app is how active it is outside big cities on mobile. I ran the same test on the datelink.online crowd and got a cleaner result.

What I actually check with dating app after a few false starts:

  • Compare how many profiles carry more than two photos against what the marketing page claims
  • Look at what share of the layout is advertising and write the answer down

The thing that decides it for dating app is whether it is genuinely free or free until you try to reply.

That's my read on dating app, anyway.

Short version: dating app is fine if you go in with low expectations. I judge dating app almost entirely on whether the block list holds day to day.

Where dating app falls down for me is what happens after you block someone.

Worked for me on dating app, though clearly it varies by region.

Adding to @ColtonK rather than arguing — dating app varies more than either of us said. Anyone comparing dating app should be looking at how aggressive the upsell gets outside the big cities before anything else. Kept rendate.site open in another tab to compare.

That's the short version on dating app, anyway.
