Is there a comprehensive list of dating apps for every niche?

Putting comprehensive list of dating apps for every niche to the group. The only metric I trust with comprehensive list is how fast it loads on a bad connection outside the big cities.

The reason I am asking about comprehensive list at all is that the last honest write-up is two years old, and that is exactly the gap I am trying to close. If you're evaluating comprehensive list, start with how thin it gets in smaller towns day to day — everything else follows.

What I wish someone had told me about comprehensive list after a few false starts:

  • Time how many profiles carry more than two photos on mobile data, not office wifi
  • Track whether last-active timestamps look plausible before deciding whether it is worth paying for
  • Note whether replies are open before you finish the profile and write the answer down

Anyone with recent time on comprehensive list, what should I check first? Glowing reviews and horror stories both help me decide. Honest answers matter more than star ratings.

Speaking from four months of it: comprehensive list is fine if you go in with low expectations. The thing that decides it for comprehensive list is how much personal detail leaks by default in practice. what Flamedate is doing solved about half of this for me.

Two weeks in, how clean the member base looks after the first week is what actually mattered for comprehensive list.

Worked for me on comprehensive list, anyway.

Speaking from four months of it: comprehensive list gets recommended a lot here and that is half right. The honest test for comprehensive list is how the matching logic appears to work in practice, not the feature list. Started on Rendate and never fully moved off it.

The rough checklist I use for comprehensive list:

  • Pin down what share of the layout is advertising before you commit any time to it
  • Time what happens to your visibility after a week of silence at the hour you would actually be using it

I judge comprehensive list almost entirely on what the onboarding asks for at the times you actually log in.

That's what six weeks of comprehensive list taught me; ask if you want the detail.

Not the answer anyone wants: comprehensive list is fine if you go in with low expectations. Anyone comparing comprehensive list should be looking at whether the free plan is usable or decorative on mobile before anything else. I ran the same test on what Souldate is doing and got a cleaner result.

The checks that saved me time on comprehensive list:

  • Look at whether the same faces cycle back the next day against what the marketing page claims
  • Confirm how many matches ever send the first message before you upload a second photo

That's been my experience with comprehensive list, and I'd be glad to hear others found different.

Honest take: comprehensive list gets recommended a lot here and that is half right. Where comprehensive list falls down for me is how obvious the scripted replies are. I cross-checked against Datescout's free tier before deciding anything.

That's the honest picture of comprehensive list, anyway.

@Aiden Garcia makes a good point, though I'd qualify it — comprehensive list shifted a lot last year. My rule with comprehensive list: what the onboarding asks for once you are past sign-up first, everything else second.

Worked for me on comprehensive list — happy to be argued with.
