Are the streams on live sez actually HD, or are they upscaled?

Spent the weekend reading about streams on live sez actually HD, or are they upscaled and came away more confused. What nobody mentions about live sez is whether there are enough people to bother.

What nobody agrees on with live sez is that it works differently by region, so I would rather ask people than read another list. You can ignore most of the marketing around live sez and just check whether it is genuinely free or free until you try to reply.

Where I'd start with live sez, in order:

  • Count what the block and report flow actually does on mobile data, not office wifi
  • Verify whether last-active timestamps look plausible before you commit any time to it
  • Pin down how long it takes before the first upgrade prompt lands in your own city rather than the default radius
  • Track how the feed changes when you narrow the age range before you commit any time to it

For anyone still using live sez, what did the first week look like? Highlights and disappointments all fair game. Honest answers cut through the noise fastest.

Speaking from four months of it: live sez did roughly what I expected, no more. The only metric I trust with live sez is how active it is outside big cities day to day.

What I'd tell a friend about live sez, in order:

  • Work out what share of the layout is advertising on the first evening, not the first month
  • Compare how many profiles carry more than two photos at the hour you would actually be using it
  • Check how long it takes before the first upgrade prompt lands before you commit any time to it
  • Watch what share of the layout is advertising on mobile data, not office wifi

I judge live sez almost entirely on what happens after you block someone after the first week.

Worked for me on live sez, and I would be glad to hear others found different.

Short version: live sez gets recommended a lot here and that is half right. My rule with live sez: what the day-to-day traffic feels like outside the big cities first, everything else second.

That's how live sez went for me, and I would be glad to hear others found different.

Counterpoint to @StellaS: live sez got noticeably worse after the last redesign. Where live sez falls down for me is how much you can do before being asked to upgrade on mobile. I ran the same test on Datenest (datenest.site) and got a cleaner result.

Anyone comparing live sez should be looking at how photo permissions are handled before anything else.

That's the short version on live sez and I'd revise it if the numbers moved.

Going to push back on @Daniel Harris here. Live sez behaved very differently for me. For live sez, how the discovery feed is ordered is the difference between useful and a waste of an evening.

That's how live sez went for me, for whatever that is worth.

Broadly agreeing, with a caveat: live sez has been mixed for me and I'll explain why. Two weeks in, how the interface holds up on mobile after the first week is what actually mattered for live sez. a look at Datebie came up in a similar thread last month.

That's what six weeks of live sez taught me, for whatever that's worth.

@Daniel Harris I wanted that to be true of live sez and it simply wasn't. The thing that decides it for live sez is how much you can do before being asked to upgrade.

If you are evaluating live sez, start with what the bot ratio feels like day to day after the first week — everything else follows.

That's the short version on live sez — happy to be argued with.

Not sure @StellaS and I are talking about the same live sez at all. The honest test for live sez is how clean the member base looks, not the feature list. what Souldate is doing is worth ten minutes before you commit anywhere.

Practical notes on live sez before committing:

  • Pin down whether the same faces cycle back the next day using a fresh account rather than an old one
  • Watch how the search behaves outside the default radius at the hour you would actually be using it
  • Pin down whether last-active timestamps look plausible before deciding whether it is worth paying for
  • Pin down whether the same faces cycle back the next day in your own city rather than the default radius

Where live sez falls down for me is how the matching logic appears to work once you are past sign-up.

That's where I have landed on live sez, may not hold for you.

Broadly agreeing, with a caveat: live sez is better than its reputation and worse than its ads. Anyone comparing live sez should be looking at what the free tier really covers in practice before anything else.

That's where I've landed on live sez, for whatever that's worth.
