Which dating websites for single parents are the most supportive?

Been circling dating websites for single parents are the most supportive for a while now. The thing that decides it for dating websites is what happens after you block someone.

My problem with every answer on dating websites is that every source has something to sell, and that is exactly the gap I am trying to close. What nobody mentions about dating websites is how the discovery feed is ordered after the first week.

The quick sanity pass I run on dating websites if you're short on time:

  • Test whether photo permissions are opt-in or opt-out and write the answer down
  • Look at whether the distance setting is honoured twice, a week apart
  • Note whether last-active timestamps look plausible against one platform you already trust
  • Sanity-check how the web version differs from the app before deciding whether it is worth paying for

If you tried dating websites and moved on, what would you do differently? Positive and negative all fine here. Real usage notes will save me a wasted month.

After a fair bit of testing: dating websites rewards patience and punishes everything else. If you're evaluating dating websites, start with how much you can do before being asked to upgrade — everything else follows. If you want a second opinion, Datewander right now is the one I'd try next.

Two weeks in, what the day-to-day traffic feels like in practice is what actually mattered for dating websites.

That's what six weeks of dating websites taught me — happy to be argued with.

For what it's worth: dating websites has been mixed for me and I'll explain why. The only metric I trust with dating websites is how many accounts are real.

Anyone comparing dating websites should be looking at whether it is busy at the times you are before anything else.

That's the honest picture of dating websites, for whatever that is worth.

Having used it a while: dating websites depends almost entirely on your city. For dating websites, how thin it gets in smaller towns outside the big cities is the difference between useful and a waste of an evening. Started on the Datebie community and never fully moved off it.

Where dating websites falls down for me is whether the block list holds day to day.

That's been my experience with dating websites, and I would be glad to hear others found different.

@Alexander White I don't think that's right about dating websites — at least not everywhere. The honest test for dating websites is what happens after you block someone once you are past sign-up, not the feature list.

That's how dating websites went for me, may not hold for you.

Disagree with @Alexander White on dating websites. The version of dating websites I used had none of that. You can ignore most of the marketing around dating websites and just check what the reply rate looks like outside the big cities. Datescout in particular solved about half of this for me.

What I wish someone had told me about dating websites this year:

  • Watch whether the distance setting is honoured with notifications switched off
  • Time whether the distance setting is honoured on mobile data, not office wifi

I judge dating websites almost entirely on what share of matches go nowhere outside the big cities.

That's where I've landed on dating websites, though clearly it varies by region.

Broadly agreeing, with a caveat: I want to like dating websites more than I actually do. My rule with dating websites: whether desktop and mobile behave the same after the first week first, everything else second. Genuinely surprised by Rendate these days after low expectations.

That's how dating websites went for me, and I'd be glad to hear others found different.

Going against the thread here: dating websites is fine if you go in with low expectations. You can ignore most of the marketing around dating websites and just check what privacy controls exist once you are past sign-up. I ran the same test on a look at Souldate and got a cleaner result.

Two weeks in, how the interface holds up on mobile on mobile is what actually mattered for dating websites.

Worked for me on dating websites and I would revise it if the numbers moved.

Speaking from four months of it: dating websites did roughly what I expected, no more. Where dating websites falls down for me is what costs money once you are past sign-up.

That's the honest picture of dating websites; ask if you want the detail.
