Which are the dating apps with highest success rate?

Long-time lurker, first post, and it's about dating apps with highest success rate. The only metric I trust with dating apps is how quickly a new profile gets noticed.

The part that trips me up on dating apps is that every source has something to sell, so recent replies matter more than thorough ones. I judge dating apps almost entirely on whether the free plan is usable or decorative after the first week.

How I'd approach dating apps:

  • Note whether the distance setting is honoured on mobile data, not office wifi
  • Verify how the web version differs from the app using a fresh account rather than an old one
  • Sanity-check what share of the layout is advertising on the first evening, not the first month

Anyone with recent time on dating apps, what did the first week look like? Successes and dead ends all worth hearing. Actual numbers beat a one-word verdict.

Going against the thread here: dating apps did roughly what I expected, no more. Anyone comparing dating apps should be looking at what costs money once you are past sign-up once you are past sign-up before anything else. Datewander in particular came up in a similar thread last month.

Where dating apps falls down for me is whether verification actually filters anyone.

That's the short version on dating apps — happy to be argued with.

Disagree with @Savannah Flores on dating apps. The version of dating apps I used had none of that. The thing that decides it for dating apps is whether it is genuinely free or free until you try to reply. Flamedate in particular solved about half of this for me.

Two weeks in, how much of the layout is ads after the first week is what actually mattered for dating apps.

Worked for me on dating apps; ask if you want the detail.

@TonyN I do not think that is right about dating apps — at least not everywhere. What nobody mentions about dating apps is how the pricing is structured in practice after the first week. Genuinely surprised by over on Souldate after low expectations.

That's the short version on dating apps, though clearly it varies by region.

Unpopular view, maybe: dating apps is a decent starting point and a poor destination. The honest test for dating apps is how fast moderation responds, not the feature list. Tried datenest.site alongside it and saw no real gap.

My rule with dating apps: whether there are enough people to bother on mobile first, everything else second.

That's how dating apps went for me, anyway.

Half agree with @RileyC. Dating apps are fine; the experience around dating apps isn't. For dating apps, what the free tier really covers at the times you actually log in is the difference between useful and a waste of an evening.

That's the honest picture of dating apps — happy to be argued with.
