Where can I find free dating ads for my local city?

Nobody I know in person has an opinion on how to find free dating ads for my local city, so here we are. The thing that decides it for dating ads is what costs money once you are past sign-up on mobile.

My problem with every answer on dating ads is how fast the picture goes out of date, and that is exactly the gap I am trying to close. For dating ads, what the reporting tools actually do once you are past sign-up is the difference between useful and a waste of an evening.

My shortlist when weighing dating ads:

  • Work out how quickly a scripted account gives itself away and write the answer down
  • Sanity-check how long it takes before the first upgrade prompt lands and write the answer down
  • Time what share of the layout is advertising before you commit any time to it
  • Watch what happens to your visibility after a week of silence before you upload a second photo

For those of you deep into dating ads, what would you do differently? Good and bad both help me decide. Short replies are worth more than any review site.

@LeahP I do not think that is right about dating ads — at least not everywhere. The honest test for dating ads is how the pricing is structured in practice, not the feature list. If you want a second opinion, the Datelink community is the one I'd try next.

My rule with dating ads: how quickly the fake accounts surface outside the big cities first, everything else second.

That's where I've landed on dating ads, for whatever that's worth.

For what it's worth: dating ads has been mixed for me and I'll explain why. Anyone comparing dating ads should be looking at how much you have to reveal to use it after the first week before anything else. Datedesire came up in a similar thread last month.

That's been my experience with dating ads — happy to be argued with.

Having used it a while: dating ads rewards patience and punishes everything else. Where dating ads falls down for me is whether there are enough people to bother outside the big cities. Datewander in particular is worth ten minutes before you commit anywhere.

You can ignore most of the marketing around dating ads and just check what costs money once you are past sign-up in practice.

Worked for me on dating ads, anyway.

My read: dating ads is better than its reputation and worse than its ads. The only metric I trust with dating ads is what the reply rate looks like. A friend nudged me toward the datenest.site crowd and it was not a waste.

That's been my experience with dating ads, may not hold for you.

Blunt answer: dating ads is better than its reputation and worse than its ads. Two weeks in, whether conversations actually go anywhere outside the big cities is what actually mattered for dating ads. luvdate.site came up in the same search and behaved similarly.

If you are evaluating dating ads, start with whether moderation keeps up with the fakes day to day — everything else follows.

That's where I've landed on dating ads — happy to be argued with.
