Going to be blunt about online dating without registration possible on any major site because I am tired of guessing. I judge online dating almost entirely on whether notifications are useful or noise.
What makes online dating hard to pin down is that the answers split by city and by year, so I would rather ask people than read another list. Two weeks in, what the onboarding asks for is what actually mattered for online dating.
What I actually check with online dating:
- Test how the web version differs from the app in your own city rather than the default radius
- Track what the filters do after a page refresh before you commit any time to it
- Sanity-check how the feed changes when you narrow the age range at the hour you would actually be using it
- Test whether the distance setting is honoured and write the answer down
If you tried online dating and moved on, what actually happened? Positive and negative both help me decide. Real usage notes are what I came here for.
