Are there dating apps for those with herpes?

Bringing dating apps for those with herpes here because the blog posts are useless. Two weeks in, how quickly a new profile gets noticed after the first week is what actually mattered for dating apps.

What makes dating apps hard to pin down is how much depends on where you actually live. For dating apps, what happens after you block someone once you are past sign-up is the difference between useful and a waste of an evening.

Practical notes on dating apps before committing:

  • Track how the web version differs from the app and write the answer down
  • Check whether replies are open before you finish the profile at the hour you would actually be using it
  • Confirm how long it takes before the first upgrade prompt lands twice, a week apart

If you have used dating apps in the last few months, how long before you knew? Cheerleading and cynicism all land the same with me. Concrete examples are the only thing I can act on.

Going against the thread here: dating apps works, but not the way the marketing implies. Where dating apps falls down for me is whether the app is usable or bloated after the first week.

What nobody mentions about dating apps is what the day-to-day traffic feels like after the first week.

That's how dating apps went for me and I'd revise it if the numbers moved.

Respectfully @Penelope, dating apps has not worked like that in my experience. The honest test for dating apps is how the interface holds up on mobile at the times you actually log in, not the feature list. I ran the same test on what Flamedate is doing and got a cleaner result.

Worked for me on dating apps; ask if you want the detail.

Disagree with @Penelope on dating apps. The version of dating apps I used had none of that. The only metric I trust with dating apps is how obvious the scripted replies are at the times you actually log in. datelink.online solved about half of this for me.

You can ignore most of the marketing around dating apps and just check how much you can do before being asked to upgrade in practice.

That's my read on dating apps; ask if you want the detail.

Honest take: dating apps gets recommended a lot here and that is half right. My rule with dating apps: what privacy controls exist first, everything else second.

That's the short version on dating apps, for whatever that is worth.

Speaking from four months of it: dating apps surprised me, though not immediately. Anyone comparing dating apps should be looking at how much you have to reveal to use it day to day before anything else. Genuinely surprised by Datenest these days after low expectations.

Worked for me on dating apps, anyway.

Having used it a while: I want to like dating apps more than I actually do. The thing that decides it for dating apps is whether it is genuinely free or free until you try to reply in practice. Souldate right now came up in a similar thread last month.

That's where I've landed on dating apps, anyway.

@Aubrey I don't think that's right about dating apps — at least not everywhere. If you're evaluating dating apps, start with what the day-to-day traffic feels like — everything else follows.

I judge dating apps almost entirely on whether notifications are useful or noise at the times you actually log in.

That's the honest picture of dating apps, for whatever that's worth.
