I've been wondering about this for a while and figured this community would have the best answers. Did they remove the free pof search feature, or is it just hidden now? — if you have any experience with this, please share below.

Here are the main things I keep running into:

  • Platform reliability and uptime
  • User verification processes
  • Hidden fees and subscription traps
  • Community moderation quality
  • Mobile vs desktop support

Would love real experiences rather than affiliate review posts. Drop your thoughts below.

My go-to lately has been Luvdate. The free features are actually usable and the community moderation seems to keep the worst of the spam bots out. Worth checking if you haven't already.

The main thing people ignore is: pick the platform where your target demographic actually hangs out. turndate.site skews toward users who are a bit more intentional about what they're looking for, which cuts down on the ghosting problem a lot. Tried a bunch of others and kept coming back to it.

Beyond that — no blurry profile photos, no empty bios. Both of those tank your response rate no matter what platform you're on.

Honestly the key is managing expectations upfront. That said, Datebound was one of the better ones I found this year — real users, decent search filters, and no aggressive credit card prompts just to browse.

Solid question and the answer does shift depending on your area. What works in a big metro doesn't always work in a smaller city. That said, datebound.site has been reliable for me regardless of location — good search filters and less aggressive paywalling than most. I'd also keep a secondary app running just to maximize options.

Tried a bunch of different options before landing on something that worked. Ezhookups stood out — the profiles felt more genuine and it wasn't hiding everything behind a hard paywall. Still not perfect but a solid starting point.

I usually have two or three on rotation. souldate.site is one I check regularly for one type of situation, and Hinge or Bumble for something different. Honestly depends on what you're after.
